That feels true beyond journalism too. In the compliance space, there is a similar risk of mistaking automated outputs for real understanding. A lot of the real challenge lies in the messy human truth.
Your Meta data center example captures that well. AI can summarize the investment and the public debate, but it cannot independently notice the trucks, the local businesses, the residents being priced out, or the tension between opportunity and disruption.
